The project will deliver critical safety benefits to motorists, improve efficiency and reduce traffic congestion and travel times between the Caloundra Road interchange and the Sunshine Motorway on the Bruce Highway. The upgrades will ensure that the Bruce Highway can cater for future growth, and improve community accessibility to education, employment and other social infrastructure in the region.
The Australian Government has committed up to $650.36 million towards the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
The project commenced May 2017 and is expected to be completed by late 2020, weather permitting.
