Project DescriptionThis project will involve the installation of an electronic freeway management system including variable speed limit signs; entry ramp signalling; CCTVs; digital message signs providing live updates on traffic conditions and delays; and signs advising drivers of lane and speed restrictions. BenefitsThe project will improve the capacity and safety and reduce congestion and travel times. FundingThe Australian Government has committed up to $84 million towards the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government. TimetableConstruction is expected to commence in early 2022 and be completed in early 2024. |
