Project DescriptionThis project involves safety upgrades at specific locations along approximately 2.3 kilometres of the Great Western Highway in Mount Victoria village from west of Browntown Oval to west of Mount York Road. BenefitsThe project will improve safety, increase infrastructure capacity and efficiency and improve reliability of travel. FundingThe Australian Government is contributing $200 million to the $250 million Great Western Highway - Katoomba to Lithgow project with the NSW Government contributing $50 million. As part of this package of works, the Australian Government is contributing $29.6 million towards the $34.1 million Mount Victoria Village Safety Works project. TimetableDetailed design of the project was completed in December 2014. Construction commenced in late 2015. |
