Project DescriptionThe existing bridge is unable to sustain normal commercial and heavy vehicles. It has a 2tonne gross loaad limit.
This limits economic activity, and access to a large area of agricultural land and fire trucks.
Demolition of existing (failed) eastern abutment, preparing and casting reinforced concrete piers, construction of new crosshead,fender and keepers. Strengthenning of the existing bridge by installing additional web cleats and cross bracing.
This will allow the through movement of legally loaded commercial and heavy vehicles with T44 design load capability. |
