The project will upgrade approximately 6.8 kilometres of Narellan Road between Camden Valley Way at Narellan and Blaxland Road in Campbelltown to a six-lane divided road.
- Stage One—between the M31 Hume Motorway and the access road to the Western Sydney University
- Stage Two— between M31 Hume Motorway and Camden Valley Way and from the access road to the Western Sydney University at Campbelltown to the Blaxland Road/Gilchrist Drive intersection
The upgrade will enable Narellan Road to support the increased growth in demand associated with the South West Growth Centre.
The Australian Government is providing $62.9 million towards the construction of this project.
On 23 May 2014, BMD Constructions Pty Ltd was awarded the contract for the construction of Stage One of the Narellan Road Upgrade. Construction commenced on 23 July 2014 and was completed in March 2016.
On 23 October 2015, Seymour Whyte Constructions Pty Ltd was awarded the contract for the construction of Stage Two. Construction commenced in December 2015 and was completed in April 2018.
