Project DescriptionThe project widened the Midland Highway at Conara to provide a northbound slow vehicle turn out lane from Esk Main Road to Panec Street. BenefitsThe project achieved a 3 Star AusRAP Safety Rating on this section of the Midland Highway. The project improved safety, capacity and overtaking opportunities. FundingThe cost of the project was $2,333,372. The Australian Government contributed $1,866,698 and the Tasmanian Government $466,674. TimetableConstruction commenced in November 2014 and was completed in May 2015. |
