Project DescriptionThe project installed a Level 3 Intelligent Transport Systems on the 4.2km section of the Monash Freeway from High Street to Warrigal Road. BenefitsThe project has improved throughput capacity and traffic flow, reduced travel times and vehicle operating costs, minimised travel time variability and incident response times and reduced the number and severity of accidents from High Street to Warrigal Road. FundingThe cost of the project was $17.2 million. The Australian Government contributed $8.6 million and the Victorian Government $8.6 million. TimetableConstruction commenced on 27 January 2015 and was completed on 12 August 2015. |
