Project DescriptionVarious sections need work to address the drainage and flood water runoff including problems with road heights and bunding. Sections also need reconstructing and resheeting whilst there. Water is currently flowing across sections of road causing erosion and road damage. Improvements will detour the water away from the road.
Works will be undertaken on a section starting 4.6km south of the intersection with the Beringarra-Byro Road and include work on two floodways to box them out and cement reinforce. Sections of the road will be reformed and gravel sheeted and one 500mt section will be reconstructed to allow the height of the road to be raised and a contour bank installed to allow water to be diverted away from the road. The works will improve the drainage and cause less damage to the roads in future weather events. The road is a gravel road with a 6 metre carriageway throughout the work area with widths increasing to 7 m through the floodways.
Total cost of proposed project is $403,005 |
