This project includes planning and priority upgrades along the Pine River to Caloundra Road corridor of the Bruce Highway to address congestion, safety and flooding issues.
The benefits of the planning project are to identify infrastructure solutions, including the integration of Intelligent Transport System infrastructure, that will address safety, capacity and traffic congestion issues as well as improving flood immunity.
The Australian Government has committed up to $1.42 billion towards the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
The planning component of the project commenced in mid-2016 and is expected to be completed early 2018. Construction timeframes are yet to be determined.
