Project Description

Inadequate Road Profile, cross-fall and longitudinal drainage

The Proposed works would include re-profiling the main land access road into the NPA (Ferry Road). The re profiling would include:- i) increasing the cross-fall to allow for adequate run-off from the road and reduce water infiltration into the pavement, causing weak spots ii)Clearing out and or re-constructing longitudinal table drains beside the road formation to allow redirection of water to major cross drainage locations and protection of the pavement from water infiltration iii)Rectification works as required by the Superintendent along the road in preparation for sealing of the road. (It is proposed that complementary funding be sought to allow for the nominated section of Ferry Road to be sealed to allow an all weather access to the Northern Peninsula Area.)
