This is one of the 18 projects being delivered as part of the Australian Government's $508 million commitment to the Warrego Highway Upgrade Program.
The duplication of the Warrego Highway between Nugents Pinch Road and Leeson Road included improvements to key intersections.
The project will increase transport efficiency and productivity through improved travel time reliability and safety on this section of the Warrego Highway by providing separation between opposing traffic streams, improving intersections between the local, state and national road networks, and through provision of slip lanes to provide safe turning opportunities.
The Australian Government committed to provide 80 per cent up to $85.12 million towards the estimated $106.4 million cost of the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
As the project was delivered under budget for $62.75 million, the final Australian Government contribution was $50.2 million.
Construction commenced in February 2015 and was completed in July 2016.
