Project DescriptionThe National Network Strengthening and Widening project is part of the $77 million Northern Territory Roads Package.
The project involved the strengthening and widening of existing pavements, including bitumen resurfacing on sections of the Stuart Highway, Victoria Highway and Barkly Highway approaching the end of their economic life. BenefitsThe strengthening and widening improvements will deliver benefits in safety, reliability and travel times for both industry and other road users. FundingThe Australian Government is providing up to $47 million towards this project. TimetableThe first of the works commenced in January 2015 and projects were completed progressively, with the final project completed in September 2019. |
