Project DescriptionThis project involved upgrade works on the Henty Highway between Horsham and Warracknabeal. It included the introduction of shoulder sealing as well as pavement strengthening and restoration where required. BenefitsThis project improved road safety and provided more reliable access. It also improved capacity to accommodate the increasing volumes of heavy commercial vehicles using the highway each day. FundingThe Australian Government contributed $3 million to this $4 million project, with the Victorian Government contributing the balance. TimetableEarly works commenced on 27 October 2014 with shoulder widening north of Minyip Road. Major rehabilitation works commenced on 3 March 2015 with the entire project reaching practical completion on 15 July 2015. |
