Project Description

The project widened shoulders and installed wire rope barriers on the Midland Highway south of Spring Hill and constructed a g-turn facility at land owner access.


The project achieved a 3 Star AusRAP Safety Rating on this section of the Midland Highway. The project improved safety, capacity and overtaking opportunities.


The cost of the project was $4,848,072. The Australian Government contributed $3,878,458 and the Tasmanian Government $969,614.


Construction commenced in December 2014 and was completed in July 2015.
