Project Description

Existing timber bridge is in the last stages of its useful life. Built to standards of more than 50 yrs ago with the increase in traffic volumes and weights of vehicles, the bridge is showing signs of wear and the structural integrity of the bridge elements has decrease to a point where it is currently load limited at 10T. The bridge also shows signs of termite damage. The bridge is for local access only.

To bring the bridge up to date with current standards, it is proposed to replace the existing bridge with concrete/steel structure, capable of supporting a minimum 23T.
