Project DescriptionThe subject section of McClure Road is well past the end of its serviceable life. The road structure has severely deteriorated under modern traffic loads. Additionally, the seal width of 3.6 metres is inadequate for the traffic the road carries. Longitudinal drainage is also inadequate and since the area is low lying and wet this has further contributed to the road's failure.
Widening and lifting of the road pavement to accommodate a wider seal and to lift the road structure out of the wet subgrade conditions. Improvements to longitudinal drainage to ensure the new road pavement can remain dry. Importation of new pavement material and application of a hot bitumen seal to a minimum width of 6.2 metres.
Total cost of proposed project is $180,000 |
