The existing road has a narrow gravel pavement and poor sight distance, it requires high maintenance and has dust concerns for adjoining residents. This is the fourth section of a project that will progressively widen and upgrade the entire road from a gravel to a sealed standard.
Widen the existing 5 metre gravel road to a 8 metre pavement with a 7 metre bitumen sprayed seal. Remove vegetation and cut down roadside ground levels around bends to further improve driver visability. The upgraded road will generally follow the existing centreline alignment.
Total cost of proposed project is $301,140
