Project DescriptionCurrent lane is too narrow to cater for the high volume of traffic at peak times. Intersection gets too busy at peak times resulting in congestion.
The proposed works will involve pavement rehabilitation on Malcomson Street to match future traffic loadings and increased lane capacity by lane widening as well as signalised intersection improvements to provide variable lane assignment (in peak periods the trhough lane will be converted into a second right turning lane) to address improved peak hour capacity as well as increased lane capacity via widening on Greenfields Boulevard.
Creation of a variable lane assignment signalised intersection to adjust lane assignment during peak periods to improve intersection capacity. Increased lane capacity in Greenfields Boulevard and Malcomson Street and upgrading lighting standards over the project site.
Total cost of proposed project is $6,277,000 |
