Project DescriptionThe upgrade involved:
- construction of a new, three lane overpass bridge, with cycle and pedestrian facilities, with the existing bridge to be retained to increase overall capacity;
- replacement of the existing roundabouts on the east and west with signalised intersections;
- an eastbound loop ramp providing a northbound connection from the Pacific Motorway to the Coomera Town Centre; and
- realignment of access ramps.
BenefitsThe upgrade will improve pedestrian and cycle safety, reduce the occurrence of rear-end crashes at the end of exit ramps and provide the interchange capacity requirements to enable development of the Coomera Town Centre. FundingThe Australian Government provided $10,000,000 to the project. TimetableThe works commenced in August 2015 and were completed in December 2016. |
