Project Description

The upgrade involved:

  • construction of a new, three lane overpass bridge, with cycle and pedestrian facilities, with the existing bridge to be retained to increase overall capacity;
  • replacement of the existing roundabouts on the east and west with signalised intersections;
  • an eastbound loop ramp providing a northbound connection from the Pacific Motorway to the Coomera Town Centre; and
  • realignment of access ramps.

The upgrade will improve pedestrian and cycle safety, reduce the occurrence of rear-end crashes at the end of exit ramps and provide the interchange capacity requirements to enable development of the Coomera Town Centre.

The Australian Government provided $10,000,000 to the project.

The works commenced in August 2015 and were completed in December 2016.
