Project DescriptionThis is a rural road which is to be upgraded to a sealed road in line with the council plan of sealing higher usage rural roads. The road surface is rough and uneven with poor drainage. The upgrade will provide a shorter route for trucks carting farm produce. At present heavy vehicles are not permitted to use this road for through travel.
The section of road will be constructed for a total length of 1600m. The existing surface will have pavement material added to give an overall pavement width of 6m. The surface will be prepared and sealed with bitumen for a width of 5.5m
A final wearing sealed surface will be applied in March 2016 on the road for a length of 1600m and a width of 5.5m to protect the road formation from water, provide drainage and create a non skid surface
Total cost of proposed project is $462,000 |
