This project involved the upgrade of the existing roundabout at the intersection of the Midland Highway and Doyles Road in Shepparton East to a two-lane roundabout, together with the duplication of the approach roadways.
Both the Midland Highway and Doyles Road carry significant heavy vehicle traffic and this intersection is operating at capacity during the morning and afternoon peaks. The duplication of the roundabout will increase capacity and improve access and safety at this location.
The Australian Government is contributing $7.635 million to this $10.18 million project with the Victorian Government contributing the balance of $2.545 million.
Construction commenced 28 September 2015 and an official opening of the roundabout was held on 24 August 2016.
