Project DescriptionThe project involved the construction of a 1.3 kilometre southbound overtaking lane and new turn lanes onto Smiths Road on the Strzelecki Highway south of Driffield. BenefitsThe project is expected to reduce driver frustration and the potential for driver error, resulting from frustration, by increasing the opportunity to overtake safely on the highway. FundingThe Australian Government has committed $3,028,710 to this project. TimetableThe project commenced on 2 February 2015 and was completed on 4 March 2016. |
