Project DescriptionThe intersection of Tyabb-Tooradin Road and Bungower Road in Somerville is a high-risk 5-leg intersection which requires urgent operational improvements to address the recent history of minor crashes. Both roads are high speed rural standard roads and increasing traffic volumes on the secondary approach Bungower Road (from 400 to 4,000vpd) over recent years has lead to the increasing trend of crashes at the site.
A roundabout is proposed for the intersection which will improve road safety risks to motorists. Works will also provide for improved delineation and drainage.
Total cost of proposed project is $1,400,706 |
