Project Description

This is one of the 20 projects being delivered as part of the Australian Government's $508 million commitment to the Warrego Highway Upgrade Program.

The project will upgrade the existing Warrego Highway rail open level crossing at Chinchilla, including an upgrade to intersections to allow for safer traffic movements, including the upgrade of existing rail crossing warning signs and the installation of railway boom gates.

Benefits

The project will eliminate the current conflict in traffic movements and improve safety, capacity and efficiency at this location.

Funding

The Australian Government is providing up to $15.2 million to the project in partnership with the Queensland Government.

Timetable

Construction commenced in April 2019 and is expected to be completed by early 2020.
