The project procured and installed a travel time information system across the arterial road network of the Australian Capital Territory. This involved the procurement of new servers and software and the installation of Bluetooth detectors and information signs.
The provision of real time traffic information allows motorists to make more informed travel decisions which has assisted in reducing traffic congestion across the the Australian Capital Territory.
The final cost of the project was $686,000. The Australian Government contributed $300,000 and the Australian Capital Territory Government $386,000.
Procurement commenced on 4 April 2016 with the installation and commissioning of the system completed on 12 May 2017.
