Project Description

Grand Ridge Road is a designated tourist route within South Gippsland Shire Council and attracts tourists from all over the country to enjoy it's unique scenery. The existing unsealed section is the last remaining section along Grand Ridge Road and has a width of 5 metres with many blind corners. Council intend on sealing this section of road to improve road safety along Grand Ridge Road.

It is proposed to construct this section of gravel road to a width of 8.2 metres, being a 6.2 metre seal with 1 metre shoulders. The road pavement will consist of a 200 millimetre layer of Class 3 crushed rock and 100 millimetres of Class 2 crushed rock overlayed over the existing road pavement, with a 10 millimetre bitumen seal. All road crossing culverts will be replaced within this section of road, guardrail and signage will be added along the road where needed.
