The existing road pavement has deteriorated below an acceptable level. Significant areas of the pavement are exhibiting crocodile cracking, longitudinal and AC joint cracking. The pavement is currently at the early stages of distress as rutting, deformation and pavement failures are throughout the length of the project area
Rehabilitation of the pavement 680m in length and 9.2m in average width for road safety and to return pavement to required level of service. Other options for the provision of corridor improvements will be investigated. These improvements may include on road cycle facilities, pedestrian pathway links and improvements, traffic safety initiatives and the provision of street tree planting to improve visual amenity and to provide shade. A review of existing signage to allow for the removal of non-essential signage from the corridor will also be investigated.
Total cost of proposed project is $1,502,853
