Project Description

The surface on Hampden Road shoulders are deteriorated. The pavement of this road is made up of 6.0m wide concrete in the centre with asphalt shoulders. Because the concrete pavement is only 6.0m wide, the left wheels of the vehicle falls on the asphalt surface. Asphalt wears at a different rate to concrete and as a result created a level difference between concrete and adjoining asphalt surfacing. The level difference could be dangerous to bikes.

It is proposed to mill the surface and replace it with new asphalt matching the concrete finished level; the asphalt surface will be flush with concrete.
