Pavement of the road is in poor condition with potholes and surface irregularities and is unsuitable for current traffic volumes. Identified in Nambucca Shire Council’s asset Management Plan for renewal. Bellingen Road is the main entry point to the Missabotti Area and carries local residential and farming traffic. This road has a closed section, due to an intense rainfall event that occurred in 2012. The closed section is located in the hills to the north of this project. There are plans to reopen this section in the future. Once this occurs, there will be a link between Bowraville and Bellingen, and will reconnect the Nambucca Shire Residents on the north side of the closure to the rest of the shire.
Renewal of the road by reconstruction with properly designed drainage, new pavement layer and new 2 Coat Seal wearing surface.
Total cost of proposed project is $350,000
