The road is too narrow for the traffic volumes and speeds it takes. The road is taking an increasing volume of traffic due to continuing tourism, residential development in Port Sorell and greater productivity of the surrounding rural land following the installation of an irrigation scheme. It is a priority link taking relatively high speed traffic.
Fencing, drainage works, widening of the gravel pavement and sealed surface by 1.0m to increase width from 5.0m to 6.0m
Total cost of proposed project is $690,003
