The project will involve the upgrade of the Princes Highway East from Sale and the NSW border in eastern Victoria, including construction of a new roundabout and overtaking lane, upgrading intersections, widening shoulders, and installing safety barriers and variable messaging signs at selected locations.
The project is expected to improve safety and efficiency for all road users and support economic growth in the region.
The estimated cost of the project is $50 million. The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $25 million.
Construction commenced on 9 October 2017 and is expected to be completed in early 2021.
