Project Description

The project will widen approximately 7km of the southbound carriageway of Mitchell Freeway between Cedric Street and Vincent Street. The upgrade will include an additional lane, creating four continuous lanes on this section of the Freeway.


The project is expected to alleviate congestion at the southern section of Mitchell Freeway during peak periods.


The Australian Government has committed $32 million to this project.  The Western Australian Government will contribute $8 million.


The project is underway and is expected to be complete in late 2019.
