The abovementioned 320 metre section is an existing bitumen road which is quite narrow and creates safety concerns due to the increased traffic volumes in the area.
The road is also very deteriorated and requires a full reconstruction due to an unstable sub-base.
It is proposed to construct a new wider bitumen sealed road, 6.5 metres in width, adjacent the existing alignment to avoid any traffic closure issues during construction and will also compliment the new two-way concrete bridge structure commencing soon.
Once the new road is complete the existing old bitumen road will be removed and surface levels altered to match the existing carparking area.
Stormwater will also be required to be addressed due to the new road's alignment and height.
Total cost of proposed project is $272,627
