Project Description

Roe Highway is a strategic road corridor that stretches from Kwinana Freeway to Great Northern Highway and forms the outer ring road network for the Perth metropolitan area. The Great Eastern Highway Bypass provides a critical connection between Roe Highway and Tonkin Highway. The project will construct grade separated interchanges at the intersections of Roe Highway and Great Eastern Highway Bypass and Abernethy Road and Great Eastern Highway Bypass.


Improve Freight Efficiency, Connectivity and Travel Time:

  • improve freight efficiency and increase freight network capacity resulting in increased supply chain efficiency
  • improve connectivity between major freight infrastructure including ports, airports and commercial and industrial areas
  • reduce costs for heavy vehicle operators, companies and commuters as a result of reduced travel time

Improve Local Amenities:

  • improve road safety and reduce congestion for all road users


The Australian Government has committed $144 million towards the $180 million project.
