Project Description

The Gawler Rail Line Upgrade will continue the electrification of the Gawler rail line in Northern Adelaide from Salisbury to Gawler.


Benefits include a faster, safer and more reliable service for the northern Adelaide community to deliver an optimised service plan to cater for patronage uplift and an improved customer experience.


The Australian Government will provide up to $220 million to this project.


The project is expected to commence in 2019 and be completed by late 2020.
