Deliver a package of targeted upgrades of the Bass Highway corridor between Marrawah to Wynyard to improve safety and efficiency.
The package of works will increase freight efficiency and reduce travel times on the Bass Highway corridor. The package will also facilitate inter-regional connections to and from northern export ports in Tasmania, improve the safety of the highway and support tourism.
The Australian Government will contribute up to 80 per cent, capped at $60 million.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2020 with further work required to finalise scope.
