Project DescriptionDeliver a package of targeted upgrades of the Bass Highway corridor between Marrawah to Wynyard to improve road safety, travel time reliability, increase freight productivity and support social access. BenefitsThe package of works will increase freight efficiency and reduce travel times on the Bass Highway corridor. The package will also facilitate inter-regional connections to and from northern export ports in Tasmania, improve the safety of the highway and support tourism. FundingThe Australian Government will contribute up to $60 million and the Tasmanian Government up to $40 million for this project. TimetableConstruction commenced in late 2021 with completion expected in early 2025. |
