Project DescriptionThis project upgraded the Commercial Road and Doggett Street intersection in Newstead. Works undertaken included the signalising of the intersection, crossings, installation of bike boxes and adjustments to in-street car-parking arrangments at the intersection. BenefitsThe upgrade is expected to reduce congestion, improve travel time reliability and increase safety at the intersection for all road users. FundingThe Australian Government committed $1.74 million towards the project under the Urban Congestion Fund. Brisbane City Council will provide the remaining funding. TimetableThe project commenced in May 2020 and was completed in July 2020. |
