This project will deliver targeted upgrades along the Kings Highway corridor, from east of Queanbeyan to the Canberra International Airport, improving the east-west connectivity between NSW and the ACT.
Parts of the corridor are single carriageway arterial road only, causing considerable congestion, particularly in the morning peak. An upgrade to the road network will reduce travel times, increase travel time reliability and improve safety.
The project will also improve east-west freight movements between the ACT and NSW coastal communities.
The Australian Government contribution is capped at $30 million.
Planning is underway.
