Upgrades to Birralee Main Road are expected to involve shoulder widening and pavement strengthening to increase safety for all road users.
Improve freight productivity as Biralee Road feeds into the Bass Highway at Westbury to support freight movement in agriculture and manufacturing industries.
The Australian Government will contribute up to 80 per cent, capped at $24 million.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2020 with further work required to finalise scope.
