This project is expected to support this growth by increasing capacity on Wellington Road, which assists to feed traffic into major corridors including EastLink and the Monash Freeway. The corridor is also a growing alternative route to the Dandenong Ranges.
This project is expected to reduce congestion and ensure forecast population-driven increases in travel demand are met. It is also expected to improve connectivity, travel times, network reliability and safety for all road users.
The Australian Government has committed up to $110 million towards this project.
The delivery schedule will be determined as planning on the project progresses and in consultation with the Victorian Government.
