Project Description

The project will duplicate the existing 0.35 kilometre two-lane section of Brisbane Road from Mayes Canal Bridge to the intersection of Foote Street and Tarcoola Avenue. The project will also include the construction of a new bridge over Mayes Canal to accommodate four lanes.


The project is expected to deliver the following benefits:

  • Reduced congestion
  • Improved safety
  • Improved flood immunity
  • Increased network and traffic capacity


The Australian Government has committed $12 million to this project.


Construction commenced in early 2021, with completion expected in early 2023.
