This project undertook planning and development to explore options to extend Thompsons Road from Clyde Road to Cardinia Road in Officer South.
The rapid population growth in the Casey Cardinia corridor in Melbourne’s south-east is leading to increased congestion on the local transport network. It is also affecting community access to employment precincts.
This project undertook planning and development to explore options to increase capacity on the transport network and provide improved access to employment precincts. It will also improve network resilience in the south-east by reducing reliance on the Monash Freeway.
The Australian Government contributed $6.5 million towards this project.
Planning and development activities commenced in July 2019 and were completed in May 2021.
