Project Description

The project will include the installation of overtaking lanes and shoulder sealing at various locations, including between Clare and Auburn and south of Giles Corner. The project will also include improvements to the Gladstone level crossing and the replacement of a bridge north of Melrose.


Improve the Horrocks Highway through safety upgrades is vital to safety, improved connectivity and improved freight efficiency.


The Australian Government will provide up to $44 million towards this project.


Construction commenced in early 2021 and is expected to be complete by mid 2024.
