This project will upgrade Canterbury Road from Dorset to Liverpool Road. It will widen Canterbury Road from two lanes to three lanes in each direction from Dorset Road to Liverpool Road. The scope of works also includes installing pedestrian operated signals and constructing a shared user path on the south side of Canterbury Road, east of Liverpool Road.
The project is expected to reduce congestion and travel time, and improve safety and efficiency for all road users.
The Australian Government contribution is capped at $47.59 million.
The project is expected to commence construction in mid-2023 and be completed by early 2025, however the delivery schedule will be determined as planning on the project progresses and in consultation with the proponent.
