Project DescriptionThe project is expected to construct a multi-deck car park to increase the capacity of commuter car parking facilities at Heathmont railway station.
As the density of urban development continues to increase at a rapid pace, parking supply is under significant pressure with demand for railway parking at Heathmont station far outstripping supply.
This project is expected to support public transport usage and efficiency by improving park and ride facilities at this location.
Additional funding for this project will support the accelerated construction of a multi-deck car park at Heathmont Railway Station, in line with the project scope. Benefits

FundingThe Australian Government is fully funding this $18.9 million project. This includes $3.9 million of additional funding which was announced in the 2021-22 Budget. TimetableThis project is expected to start construction in mid-2022 and be finished construction by mid-2023.
