Project Description

This project will deliver a new TfNSW compliant two-lane concrete bridge over Murrabrine Creek along Wandella Road in Cobargo, Bega Valley. The new bridge is designed by Andrew Marshman of Marshman ONeill Engineers and will replace the current timber bridge, which is approaching the end of its serviceable life. The new bridge will ensure all traffic access along the route, including Gross Mass Limited (GML) heavy vehicles such as fully laden milk tankers, concrete trucks and cattle transports.

This project is expected to improve freight accessibility and load limits and increase local producer productivity and will help Council meet its community strategic plan outcomes.

The Australian Government has committed $2.3 million to this project, with the Bega Valley Shire Council committing $2.3 million, bringing the total project funding commitment to $4.6 million.

The project commenced construction August 2021 and is expected to be completed by late 2022.
