This project will upgrade Warren Road between Coonamble to Warren. The road is the most direct freight route between these two towns, but heavy vehicles are currently required to take a longer route due to the deteriorating condition of the road.
The upgrade will improve connectivity between the two townships, as well as other local villages, and deliver road safety, traffic flow and freight efficiency improvements.
This project will improve road safety for all users; improve accessibility and connectivity of road networks; and improve connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with markets.
The Australian Government funding contribution is capped at $1.93 million.
The project is expected to commence late 2021, and be completed early 2023.
