Project DescriptionUpgrade roads infrastructure on and around the Northern Territory section of the Alice Springs to Halls Creek corridor. BenefitsThis project will:
- improve connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with markets
- improve road safety
- improve freight efficiency, connectivity and travel time
- improve economic productivity
- improve flood immunity on a key route in the region
FundingThe Australian Government has committed $235 million towards the Alice Springs to Halls Creek Corridor, of which $160 million has been committed to the Northern Territory section and $75 million to the section in Western Australia. TimetableEarly works are expected to commence in mid 2020. |
