Project Description

Upgrade roads infrastructure on and around the Northern Territory section of the Newman to Katherine corridor.


This project will improve :

  • connectivity between people with jobs and services, and goods with markets
  • road safety
  • freight efficiency, connectivity and travel time
  • economic productivity
  • flood immunity on a key route in the region


The Australian Government has committed $110 million towards the Newman to Katherine Corridor, of which $70 million has been committed to Western Australia and $40 million to the Northern Territory.


Construction on the corridor commenced in mid 2019. Upgrades to the corridor will continue on a rolling basis.
