The corridor follows the Barrier Highway from Burra to Cockburn. The key arterial road that connects to the corridor is the Goyder Highway. The main pinch points are between Burra and East of Orroroo.  The project will widen, strengthen and realign various sections along the corridor.

Targeted upgrades will increase access for higher efficiency heavy vehicles, leading to an overall increase in the efficiency of the corridor in line with the ROSI objectives. Key industries that will benefit from an upgrade to this corridor include, grain, fuel and livestock.

The Australian Government is providing up to $50 million to this project.

Construction is expected to commence in late 2020 and be completed by mid 2023.
